Most of these international posts are about haute cuisine, but this one's different; it's about a mass-market ice cream.
In NZ, and doubtless in Australia, and probably in the UK, there's this ice-cream-on-a-stick called the "Memphis Meltdown", which is marketed with images of a mythical Deep South where the sherriffs are tough, the bank robbers are beefy, and all of them are revealed to have hearts of fudge by the sweetness of the Memphis Meltdown ice-cream bar. As an expat American, I find this ad campaign very amusing.
Anyway, this ice cream consists of: a chunk of rather good vanilla ice cream, a rather good chocolate coating, a dip in a fluid sauce, and then another chocolate coating. They've just come out with a new one that has a raspberry sauce. The enchanting part is that the sauce is made of REAL raspberries!!!!
Every woman I know who has set tooth in this confection - myself included - declares it divine. I'd go so far as to say that it should be prescribed for PMS cravings. So, try it if you're down this way.
