It's September, meaning I am already WAY behind on making my Christmas cakes/fruitcakes for this year.
I'm putting together an altered version of Nigella's Time-Honoured Christmas Cake (dried fruits only*, and my own list/amounts within the prescribed 610g of fruit). I made it last year and it was beyond luscious!
I've been eyeing her Chocolate Christmas Cake and I was wondering: has anyone tried it? Did you change anything to suit your own tastes? Is there a BETTER recipe floating around in the fruitcake cosmos? The chocolate concept with dark fruits is pretty intriguing.
I don't haunt these boards but when I don't want to mess around with food, you are the first people I think to ask. Thank you in advance!
*In our house we're big on boozed cakes and morally allergic to glacee'd fruits. If I need peel, I candy my own.
