Today was the first day of my holiday baking! I pulled out all my trusty recipes that I have used for years. Among them is a chocolate chip recipe that I have always gotten rave reviews on. It uses pretty much the recipe on the semi sweet morsel pkg except I use CAKE FLOUR instead of all purpose. This year I have moved to SW Florida and have a new oven.... After two batches I am so dissapointed! Both batches looked beautiful when I pulled them from the oven but as they cooled the flattened like I've never seen before. They still taste good but look very strange. I know they were mixed right just am at a loss as to why they flattened. Never had that happened before. I have the same cookie sheets I've always used and I chill them for about 30 min (as usual) before baking. Could it be the area...altitude or lack of it....humidity?
I'd like to try another batch but not sure what to adjust? Thanks for any suggestions!
