Chino Bandido Takee Outee

It's a whole in the wall, but I love it! I haven't seen a post on Chino and had to share. I was there for lunch today.

Chino Bandido is an odd amalgamation of ethnic cuisine -- asian, mexican, jamaican, cuban. It's all over the place, but it works. Not glamorous by any means, but a great, cheap meal.

It's a self service order form that you turn in at the counter. Make sure your name's on the order and grab a seat. They'll deliver your dinner with a warm fresh snickerdoodle cookie and you're ready to go.

I always get the combo plate -- two meats with your choice of beans (black or refried -- the black are better in my opinion) and choice or rice (white, jerk fried rice, chicken jerk fried rice and others.)

The meats include Jade Red Chicken (kind of like a spicy sweet and sour w/o the cloying sweet pineappley sauce) My favorite. Carnitas (my 2nd fave), jade red pork, jerk chicken, gringo chicken, emerald chicken (with green herb sauce), teriyaki chicken and chile rellenos to name a few. All of the meats can be served by themselves or you can choose to have them in a quesadilla or burrito for no extra.

Today I had a jade red chicken quesadilla and a carnitas burrito with black beans and white rice. With a fountain drink and yummy snickerdoodle it was just seven bucks and I've got dinner to boot! God, i love this place.

Everyone has their favorite and it can be hard to experiement when you've found what you like. But, the counter will let you taste their best sellers to see what you like.

Chino is located on the NW corner of Greenway and 18th Avenue in a little strip mall.

You'll love it. Enjoy.

Gayle
