Chinese pickled cabbage

Some years ago, there was a tiny Chinese restaurant on the north side of East Broadway, near Catherine Street, called "Little Shanghai." It was basically a narrow 10-table greasy spoon with terrific dumplings and the best Chinese pickled cabbage. The cabbage wasn't as fiery as Korean kim-chi (it wasn't a condiment, but a salad, or side-dish) but just mouth-watering vinegar-y (probably with some other spices)and wonderful with the dumplings: I don't know any other restaurant that had it. Does anyone know where I can find something similar? Any borough is okay, but Manhattan and Brooklyn are best. Also, has the restaurant moved elsewhere, or, as is often the case, has it simply disappeared?
