Chinese breakfast street food

Hillham | Apr 12, 2004 10:15 AM

I'm hoping to find two "breakfast" things I ate a lot on the street in China.

The first is a kind of omelette or thin crepe with egg and all kinds of other spicy stuff folded into a square. Can't say exactly what's in it, but it's everywhere on the street in Beijing.

Second is fresh, warm, soft tofu with spicy oil & maybe some kind of preserved onion on it. People eat it with a spoon in the morning like a bowl of hot cereal. Delicious!

I haven't seen these things in New York's Chinatown, but am hoping they exist somewhere. Any suggestions?

Sorry my descriptions aren't better, but it's been a while since my trip to China!
