Bing and Bao is a new place in Idylwood Plaza (Whole Foods) in Falls Church. It is setup for video screen ordering inside, and it is possible to eat in plus there are a couple of small tables outside.
I was in the mood for bing (pancake) made with beef, though some of the warning signs should have been obvious. The beef is sliced steak which is an awkward choice, and I was also afraid it might have a sweet 'generic Asian' profile, so I added pickled radish and chili oil.
The bing comes out as a huge, soft, and moist burrito. The outside is made with hard-fried egg and sesame seeds. Despite this, not much flavor or interest. Inside there is some crispy bread (their version of you tiao) which was a bonus, but the interior was just too sweet and boring to be of any use. They are clearly going for the Fusion market.
It's a lot of food. The price creeps up easily enough, and the end result is not something I'd like to repeat. I did not try the bao.
