Well, I've been stuck in Philadelphia for the past couple of months and missing my food treks in NY (it's harder in Philly without a car). And wondering about Chinatown, which I keep hearing is still having business problems.
So this weekend I'm getting together a bunch of people and we're all going to let loose in Chinatown. I know some of the places I want to go -- Joe's Shanghai (which is always sort of disappointing now, but I still go because it's where I first discovered soup dumplings), New green bo, Wo Hop's (which, okay, is pretty bad, but where my NJ friends and I would stop in for middle of the night greasy beef chow fun), sweet n tart cafe, plus some places that I can't think of unless I see them. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to add to my list? Especially, of course, places with good dumplings of any sort. What about that place that is simply called "Fried Dumpling" that I can never find?
I'd love to do a noodle soup excursion but I think that would be pretty unmanageable. I think I will have to stop in somewhere for some pho, though.
