I need some serious and quick help here please. Am requiring to know about SE Asian ingredients, preferable specially from around Hong Kong or China.
Something that you use a lot of or regularly whether it is a sauce, ingredient, paste, herb or spice, as long as it has a fairly decent shelf life and is ambient .
Am also researching these boards further, however some clues I have located are as under ( I know some of these may not meet the desired criteria) :
Xiao hong dou sha - red bean paste
Xiao long bao (Chinese soup dumplings ) ?
Pomegranate paste (frequently used in Persian cooking)
Rice paper / Edible paper
Szechuan pepper (Xanthoxylum piperitum)
Tamarind / paste
