I'm looking for great chile Rellenos, but I'd prefer that they are made with Chiles that are not too spicy (Anaheim, Poblano etc) and can either be filled with the fresh cheese, or any kind of meat.
I tried Margarita Jones that opened in Pasadena not too long ago, but their Chiles were just too darned hot and not roasted enough to make them flavorful and tender.
Please post your suggestions of any kind. Locations Downtown LA and East LA preferred. Open to hole-in-the-wall joints, family restaurants, taquerias, anything except the food mill and "fancy pants" places that want $15 for two tacos beans and rice...get real!!
