Chicken Tofu

There used to be a Japanese restaurant on San Pablo in Berkeley, Eddokko (sp?), a little family place, that made a dish called Chicken Tofu. It was chicken, japanese eggplant, silken tofu in a brown gravy, a stew like consistency, flavored with ginger among other things. Does anybody have any idea what it was and how to make it? I have googled it to no avail.
