Help!: Best Chicken Tikka Masala in London?

C. Simon | Jan 4, 2005 03:32 PM

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to London. During the next few months I will be researching and researching and researching potential chow destinations. You have my word that, when all is said and done, I will post a thank-you and thorough write-up regarding my chow tour of London.

Now, the first order of business is making the wife happy. To that end, I am in search of the best chicken tikka masala in London.

Yes, I realize that this is an Anglo-Indian dish, and not a "true" Indian dish. Yes, I realize that there is more authentic ethnic chow to be discovered in London.

But, those of us with wives understand that the first order of business (prior even to chow!) is to please "she-who-must-be-obeyed." And, SWMBO's favorite dish is chicken tikka masala. So there.

My research on this board thus far has turned up many recommendations outside London (e.g. Shere Khan in Manchester), restaurants with mixed reviews in London, some of which don't even have CTK on their web menus (e.g. Zaika), and London-San Francisco chains that reliable London hounds seem to fancy (e.g. Gaylord's).

But, where is the BEST ctk?

Help a doting husband out.
