After living here practically my whole life, I finally made it to the Chicken Pie Shop down in the Tower district.
I originally wanted the fried chicken giblets on the menu, but the waitress said they stopped serving them last year (then why not take it off the menu?), so my eldest daughter and myself ordered the chicken pie with whipped potatoes. My youngest ordered the "waffle sandwich".
Her "waffle sandwich" was actually a half Belgian waffle (rather stale ), 3 slices bacon on the side and 1 egg on the side.
As for our other meals, the chicken pie was very tasty with lots of flavorful chicken with some bland bright yellow gravy in a very good crust. On the side was some very tasty potatoey tasting whipped potatoes topped with more of the bright yellow bland gravy. There were also 2 biscuits on the side that had a good texture but a slightly chemical taste. We were very full from our meals so we ordered 2 desserts to go that we ate later.. My eldest daughter had a chocolate cream pie (an individual pie rather than a slice) that was tasty but had a strong coffee taste to the filling. I had the rice pudding which turned out to be the best I've ever eaten.
The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.
