i'm visiting chicago right now, and i've done my best to sample the local fare. polish hot dogs at weiners circle, pork sandwiches, polish buffet, korean bbq, charbroiled cheddar burgers, etc. i think i'm going to be returning to new york a few pounds heavier, but vanity loses out to my desire to fully experiencing all a city has to offer.
what i'm really craving now is some good dim sum. as a kid, my parents took me to yum cha every sunday in san francisco, so i'm well-versed in the ways of dim sum and after a few weeks on the road i'm craving my sunday fix. i've read some of the posts here regarding the phoenix, and i've read a few online reviews of three happiness, but i'm still not sure where to go.
what would you guys recommend? i don't want tourist trap, and although i don't mind checking off my selections from a menu, i'd much rather order from the carts. please, please, give me some recommendations. i eat everything. i'm planning on going tomorrow, and i leave town on wednesday, so i'd LOVE to be able to add chicago to the list of cities i've eaten dim sum in.
help a girl out why don't you.
