I will be in N.Y. for a few days during election week. I will be conducting business in the 500 block of Madison Avenue. I've only been to N.Y. on a few occasions and don't know the city very well (that's my justification for not utilizing the board). However, I'm looking for some great tips in walking distance or a reasonable cab ride away.
I'm looking for cuisine/foods that are not well represented here in Chicago (IMO that eliminates Mexican,Thai, hot dogs and perhaps one or two more that I can't recall). Some of the things I would like to have while I'm there is a good N.Y. bagel/breakfast place, pizza, sushi, Chinese and any great and/or unique restaurants/foods to be had in the vicinity for a lunch or dinner. Good bar recs are also appreciated.
It's likely that I will have at least one or two periods during my stay that I will have an extended periods of time to focus on chow, so if there is a place further out that is not to be missed please let me know. Thanks all who respond!
