Chez Siam: Authentic Thai Cuisine - Marlborough

Joshua B | Sep 28, 2005 11:14 AM

On Sunday night at around 8 PM, a friend and I drove on Rt. 20 in Marlborough to find a place to eat. We saw Chez Siam (at 280 East Main Street - Route 20) with their tagline, "Authentic Thai Cuisine" so we went with it. The dining room is pretty, with high slanted ceilings like a church, and a balcony on one side. Our server said that they host large groups up there. Aside from one other couple who came in after us, we were the only diners. A few folks came in for take-out orders.

The food was a bit more expensive than the Cambridge Thai places I'm used to...something like $9 or $10 for the curries, but I assume their dinner menu is more pricey than their lunch menu.

She ordered green curry chicken and I ordered massaman curry chicken which were served in small but deep bowls under lidless bowl with a burning candle to keep the food warm. I hadn't seen this before and I really enjoyed it. Her green curry was very spicy (she had asked about that when she ordered so maybe they increased the usual amount of spice) and my massaman was not very spicy. Both were quite delicious. Portions were large so we each had enough for the next night's dinner to take home. Ginger ice cream for desert was very good as well. I'll visit Chez Siam again.

So who knows if this will get deleted because maybe it's outside of someone's subjectively acceptable Boston range...
