Cherry - Is it too soft?

Just doing some material of choice decisions on cutting boards...we already have maple and walnut boards, so I'm thinking about switching gears

Cherry is about 1/2 as hard as maple, with walnut in the middle.
So basically, the softest out of the 3.

For a wearing surface - endgrain cherry, do you think it's ~too soft~, over the long term, or it should wear well.
