Cheesecake disaster help!

Hi Chowhounds!

I need your advice on a major goof I did last night. I made the Three Cities of Spain Cheesecake off the Epicurious website. This cheesecake has a sour cream topping that goes on the baked cheesecake and back in the oven for another 10 minutes.

It came out of the oven, I put it on a rack, and....left it there overnight! I meant to come back downstairs after it cooled to put it in the fridge for the night but got caught up in my bedtime processes and just plain forgot!

I woke up this morning, remembered the cheesecake, and bolted out of bed (not sure why...) to see what had happened. The cake was still there and looking fine - no condensation on it or anything odd looking. I tasted a little bit from the side - it tasted fine. I put it in the fridge and came to work.

My question is, what would you do in my situation? Figure it's okay and eat it? Scrape off the topping and just eat the cake part (which was baked for 50 minutes at 350 degrees)? Dump the whole thing in the trash?
