Cheese Tasting @ Rancho Cortes | Valle de Guadalupe - Ensenada

Melanie Wong | Aug 19, 201801:47 AM

In our quest to find Misiones olive oil at the source, we spent a lot of time trying to find Rancho Cortes in Valle de Guadalupe. Turns out we passed by the entrance many times because we could not spot the sign. So here's the photo showing the unpaved driveway leading from the highway, and you can see the Rancho Cortes sign on the left, hidden in the shadows behind the shrubbery.

In June 2017, we were told there was no olive oil for sale. And the same on return in the fall during olive harvest and milling season.

Our first visit, we did take the time to try the cheeses. My favorite was the ivory white-hued younger quest fresco made with goat milk.
