The American Cheese Society is holding their annual conference in San Francisco from July 31 to August 2 and will be sponsoring 2 events that are open to the general public and that sound extremely interesting.
Here's the info as reported in the SF Chronicle:
The Festival of Cheeses will be Aug. 2, 7-9 p.m., at the newly remodeled Ferry Building. Attendees will be able to sample all of the cheeses entered in this prestigious national competition, including those cheeses judged best in a number of categories. California wines and other specialty foods also will be offered.
Tickets are $65 in advance, $75 at the door. Call (502) 583-3783, or fax (502) 589-3602.
The Festival of Cheeses is the culminating event of the conference, which each year draws cheesemakers, cheese retailers and distributors, and chefs from across the country.
ACS will also sponsor an educational seminar on Aug. 2, also open to the public, about cheese-and-wine pairings. Cost is $30, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Ferry Plaza Farmers' Market.
