Hi all, I’ll be traveling to your lovely city for a few days in April and I plan on hitting up some seriously good cheap eats. I have been pouring over the boards here trying to put the finishing touches on my itinerary and wanted to get some feed back/suggestions. I will report back after on everything I try.
A bit of background first: I’m from Toronto, I’ll be traveling with someone who doesn’t eat meat but does eat fish. We’ll be traipsing all over so closeness to my hotel is not an issue, however I’m staying at the Hudson. The reason for the trip is mainly to eat and shop, so we are in search of the best cheap eats the city has to offer.
Okay so here is what I have so far for my must try places from reviewing the boards. Please let me know if something is over rated or not worth trying. If there is something particularly good I haven't listed that we should try please let me know that too.
-Ess A Bagel
-Bagel Hole- I know that the other two are pretty famous is this equally as good?
Sweets (got a big sweet tooth so there are a few here...)
-Two Little Red Hens (want to try the cupcakes)
-Treats truck if it's scheduled to make stops while we're there
-Doughnut Plant- Primarily Tres Leches, Blackout and PB&J
Pizza Tastings (LOVE pizza, out of all the discussions I picked these as my top 3)
-Di Fara Pizza
-Artichoke Basille's Pizza
-The Meatball Shop - How is this place I see mixed reviews? They do have a veggie meatball so this will work for both of us, has anyone tried the veggie meatball?
-Xi’an Famous Foods- Is this the best option for yummy, cheap noodles? Anyone know if they have a veggie noodle dish here?
-Biryani Cart - Love Indian but is there anything fish or veggie based at this cart that’s good?
We also love Mexican food and really want some great tacos. Not sure where to go, we were thinking maybe Taco Mix... ? Does anyone know if they have a fish taco there or at any other great taco place?
Thank you so much in advance for any insight you have!
