hi all. i'm going to be working at the smithsonian/national museum of american history during the first week of march on an alternative spring break internship. i haven't been to dc in probably 15+ years, and all i ate at that age were hot dogs, so i'm looking for lunch options that are conveniently located to the museum. the cheaper and ethnicker the better. open to dinner recs too. i will be staying at the hotel harrington.
my frame of mind is that i'm annoyed i was assigned to dc instead of nyc because i had all my meals already planned out (oh, kwik meal #5, how i long for thee), but clearly i need to make the chowhound best of my situation. i'm searching the boards, obviously, but i'd appreciate any locale-specific info. i eat anything, although i will be dining frequently with a non-meat eater as i have yet to convert her from her evil ways. please help!
