If you work in the Civic Center area and at crave Chinese food at lunchtime, you already know that your options are limited. This is nothing to get overly excited about, but there's a new Chinese restaurant in the 'hood.
Ken's Kitchen, on the corner of Polk and Eddy (700 Polk), is not bad, based on only one lunchtime excursion, and very, very cheap. They have about 30 (very standard) lunch specials in the $4-$6 range, and are offering a "grand opening" 15% off. So, my lunch of garlic chicken wings (I'd give it a 6 out of 10 on the Wing Scale) was only $3.89 with tax.
So far, so good, but I'd be interested in any other dishes anyone tries. I grabbed a takeout menu on my way out, and it's a lot more extensive than the lunch menu, with some interesting-looking dishes. Oh, and they're open until 10 pm and they deliver, for you workaholics out there.
