I went to the T&T near Chinatown today and discovered a great deal on their tenderloins and ribeyes. Steaks and whole cuts were on sale. The whole ribeyes weighed ~11lbs, and were only $2.99/lb. The ribeye steaks, if I recall correctly, were $3.99/lb. The whole tenderloins were $5.99lb (not sure, but I think ~5 lbs each). I don't remember the price of the cut filets.
I picked up a whole ribeye for $33. I have no idea how good this beef is, but since it's cheaper than most stew meat, I think I got a great deal, even if the meat isn't the greatest. I plan to cut steaks from half of them, and making a roast out of the other half. I'm having a dinner party next week and was planning on roasting a few chickens, but I guess I'll be serving beef instead :-)
The tenderloin is a great deal. If you're a tenderloin lover (I am not), I don't think you can go wrong at this price, since grade doesn't really affect the quality too much since it's such a lean cut of meat.
