After many missed opportunities to eat at Husk, the stars aligned and we got a table. We spent an hour in the lovely bar upstairs and enjoyed cocktails and chicken wings, which were very flavorful and not sweet and goopy. Service was impeccable. We were seated at our table and the excellent service continued. We started with the much talked about pig ears, which were served in lettuce rolls with onions and a dark glaze/sauce. The server had said these were baconish, but we found they lacked in flavor and that the consistency was crackly, a bit like plastic. The sauce/glaze was very unbalanced and acidic. The dish tried too hard... The acidity would come back to haunt me when I received my pork roulade (with pork belly and other pieces, served with 'pastrami glaze' . This sauce caused me and my friend to both shiver a bit with its acidity, as we had with the pigs ear sauce. The meat was perfectly cooked, and the everything bagel pierogis and apples on the plate were fantastic. My friend's steak was fine but not memorable. I am glad I finally went, but would really say that the bar is the best part. Service is fantastic and the wines are interesting...
