When I am in Chicago for work or visiting I almost always dine at a family or independently owned restaurant. I try to stay away from chain establishments. But living in the far burbs there are not many chains out here yet so I can still eat at family restaurants. But people out here are begging for a Bennigans, Fridays, Outbacksteakhouse, Ruby Tuesdays Etc.......? Then when they build one everyone flocks to it. Are some suburbanites blind? Will the restaurant industry be like every other big business taking over. Will a good family owned restaurant go down like a family hardware store closing down because a home depot was built nearby? I noticed in Chicago people are smarter when chosing where to eat.
