I finally got a same-day reservation at Cesca (called at 2 pm and got a 9:30 reservation for 2 - I was thinking it was at least something to thank the Republicans for but then I had the meal....)
What, exactly, is the big deal with this place? I realize that the UWS is considered a food "wasteland" (mostly rightly so), but this place is NO BIG DEAL.
My husband had a special appetizer that would be perfect on a chilly winter evening but was less than ideal at the end of a 90-degree day. I had a dish of small seafood raviolis - neither the menu or the waiter mentioned garlic, which I love, but it was so strong the dish was INEDIBLE. I would have sent it back but by then I just wanted to flee.
Cheeky waiter, overchic decor, loud, and expensive bad/average food! I'll never go back.
