I know lots of us have been breathlessly waiting for sone of the summer farmer's markets to begin, so I thought I'd post a heads-up. I went over and picked up some nice asparagus at a new (to this market) farm whose name I forget -- they also have rhubarb and lots of maple products; some gorgeous mixed baby greens from Lampson Brook (they have a few other vegetables; and an olive roll from Breadsong Bakery (the bread is softer than the Clear Flour olive rolls, and they are more expensive, but they are PACKED with olives).
Not a lot of other vegetables -- mostly baked goods and plants being sold -- and a lot of the usual stands aren't there this week (or next, b/c of Memorial Day), but it's still great to see the season actually begin.
The market is located in a parking lot off of Bishop Allen Drive, in Central Square, Cambridge. Walk through the alley next to Shalimar and Central Kitchen and you'll see it.
