As promised, the following is my review of dinner at the Cedar Hollow Inn (near the Great Valley Corp. Center).
Arrived 30 minutes early for reservations (I was at the mercy of SEPTA and they were on time for a change!) We figured we'd sit at the bar and have a drink before dinner, but our table was ready and we were seated immediately.
Me - stuffed oysters (one of each of the following, pesto, roasted red peppers, sweet onions). Big mistake for me...I love raw oysters with just a bit of lemon. This was too much - adn sweet roasted onions with the salty oysters didn't do it for me.
Hubby - Seafood bisque - he loved it and didn't share!
Me - Red snapper stuffed with crab - perfectly prepared, flavors were perfectly blended and I swear it was a bit of heaven on my plate!
Hubby - chicken breast stuffed with brie and something else. It was a vegetable, but husband didn't include it in the little taste that I got! Chicken was super tender and perfect!
Me - creme brulee. It was good, but I've definitley had better. I think I've been spoiled by Frogg Commissary's pumpkin creme brulee!
Husband - Frozen Grand Marnier (sorry about spelling!) custard. Good lord, I thought I died and went to heaven after sampling his...multiple times...
Even better were the two gigantic chocolate covered strawberries that were compliments of the restaurant. They were two of the most perfect (and tastiest, too) strawberries that I've seen! And they were dipped in dark chocolate, which will always earn extra bonus points in my book.
Overall, I would go back...despite inquiring whether they were doing anything special for Valentine's Day, such as limited menu and being told that they weren't, they did anyway. There were a few things on the full menu that I was dying to try, so we'll just have to make a return trip!
