I am currently living in Minneapolis but grew up in Rhode Island. Good New England seafood is impossible in the upper Midwest! I will be going home this weekend and will be spending an afternoon in Point Judith before heading to my parent's place in Bristol, RI. Was planning on stopping for dinner somewhere between Point Judith and Bristol. I am looking for a casual seafood restaurant (read: fried seafood) that serves good fried clams and/or good fish and chips (cod). My standard for the type of place I am looking for is Davey's Locker in New Bedford - Hearty portions, great and fresh fried clams and fish, reasonable price, decent restaurant atmosphere. Reading through some other threads, I am considering Champlains in Galilee (never been), or Flo's Clam Shack (driven by a million times, never been). Would prefer restaurant to "shack" if possible. Other suggestions between these two location (so middletown /portsmouth /newpor t/jamestown/etc would all be fine) are welcome. What would you suggest that would best fit the bill? I know it isn't gourmet, but it sure will be a fine welcome home after a long Minnesota winter!
