Casual mid-priced restaurants in Sydney CBD

Hi Hounds,
I'll be making my first trip to Australia next week, and will be spending several days in Sydney, based in the CBD. I'm travelling with my kids, and am hoping to find some good casual restaurants in the area. I've read through the various posts over the last few years, and am not finding quite what I'm looking for-- while I'd love to go to one of the top notch places like Quay, the prices (and any prix-fixe menus) don't usually make sense since the kids don't eat very much. So I'd like to find something a bit less expensive, but still good - usually a "casual" atmosphere works better for the family than something formal, though my kids know how to behave in restaurants. We'll also be passing through Thailand and Hong Kong on this trip, so I'd rather not be eating Thai or Chinese while in Sydney. We all do love seafood, so that would be a good choice, as would anything that gives us a flavor for "Australian" cooking... Thanks much for the help.
