Looking for casual good food near FQ where a single can eat at the bar

chrisonli | Oct 20, 200807:54 PM     12

I'll be in NOLA for work this week and am staying until early Sunday morning. Looking for a couple of places for dinner where I can eat casually at the bar - since I'll be dining alone. I'm staying at the Loews and as a middle-age woman, am not looking for adventure <grin>. Mostly looking for tasty and appetizing food in venues that are welcoming and not too very noisy.

Places I already have on my list of possibles are: Rambla - possibly for dinner at a communal table, but maybe for lunch. Ruby Slipper and/or Petunia for breakfast, Napoleon House for appetizers and Bloody Marys, Mr. B's Bistro; Luke (the onion tarte sounds wonderful!).

I'm more of a beer drinker than a wine aficionado, so good beer is a plus.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
