Ok, I was supposed to be spending the day shopping in Harvard Square, but ended up making a few stops along the way. First stop Casablanca - At first I was disappointed in the limited lunch menu, but I have to say my grilled shrimp was great. I'm not sure if the shrimp were marinaded first but they had the most wonderful flavor. The avocado salad was actually guacomole with a heavy dose of lime, but I enjoyed it along with the greens and pita bread. Nice chardonnay from Chile, a 2004 Crucero which I will definitely be looking for in my local wine shop. My second stop was Noir and I can't say that I was impressed. The bartender, well, shouldn't be a bartender. Enough about that, I did appreciate the cashews that another patron smuggled in, and I quickly moved on. After a little more shopping and a good walk, my last stop was Smile Thai. I had heard a fair amount of negatives, but wanted to try for myself. The good; I love the assortment of the sauces on the table; the food came out quickly and tasted fresh with plenty of spice. The not so good; I really felt rushed and given the absence of a beer and wine license, there wasn't much of a choice other than water. A watermelon drink like they offer at Penangs would have been good.
