I started this thread:
a while ago about trying to find carnitas here in Boston like that I enjoy in the SF Bay area.
BTW, if you look at the original thread and are a carnitas fan do not click through on 9lives flickr link unless you want to get depressed :).
Finally got around to trying KO's La Verdad because the online menu contains the word 'carnitas'.
It comes as a 'carnitas taco plate'. The pork appears to be stewed, at beast broasted. Wet, stringy, gray. Not roasted, not roasted then fried, not carnitas.
The dish was unremarkable.. A little cilantro and cumin, not enough to offend the palates of the suburban New Englanders who frequent the place drunk after the redsox or drunk after Jillians's.
In the men's room some sort of appliance had been torn off the wall, wires dangling, secured with scotch tape.
Only way procure tortilla chips is to purchase guac' ($9 for one, $13 for two). Abstained.
Dos Equis on tap was tasty.
In short, no reason to return.
I can't imagine what, if anything, KO's actual involvement is with the place.
