Carneciera/Restaurant in Pasadena

For our Cinco de Mayo dinner, we bought meat for Carne Asada at the market in the small shopping center at 1190 N. Fairoaks. They had thinly sliced flank steak for $3.99/lb (on sale). We marinated it, grilled it quickly, served it with the expected accompaniments, and it was delicious.

They also carry a marinated chicken, which we've tried and liked a lot, and other very good-looking, inexpensive meats, also the best queso fresco we've had in a long time. This place is a find!

The small attached restaurant has been mentioned previously on this board. We didn't get a chance to try it, but will soon - everything looked wonderful. Not a lot of English is spoken there, but you can get along very well with gestures and pointing.
