I've been loving Carmines since it opened in the early 90's and have been coming here three to four times a year for their chicken scarpariello, (and now their scarp wings), and all the other great things they make.
For the last few years we've received emails from them about their prepared Thanksgiving meal and never tried it. I convinced my family to try it this year, and wanted to share our thoughts:
First off, we had 10 people at our table. Aside from their put together menu, we ordered two orders of meatballs, (14 meatballs), and one order of scarpariello wings. We picked up our order at 11AM, the promised time.
First off, the turkey was fantastic. Expertly carved when we got it home (by Carmines), the turkey was still warm. and had excellent flavors and moisture. The crowd loved it. Their mashed potatoes were perfect- a bit lumpy which I love, with great taste. Their sweet potatoes with marshmallows didn't thrill anyone but their mixed grilled vegetables were all delicious. Their giblet gravy was excellent as was their cranberry sauce. The finale of apple pie was just ok, but we more than supplemented this with our home baked cherry pie. Also the chicken scarp wings were incredible as always, as were their amazing meatballs.
All I can say is, BRAVO Carmines for a job incredibly well done. This was a fairly priced meal and everyone loved it. I wanted to give this place a shout out here on Chowhound, and say you should consider it for your turkey day next year!
