Carfu in FH: good eats but lacking on service...

Finally got a chance to check this place out. George, the owner seems like a really nice guy but perhaps he needs to crack the whip a little on his waitstaff. Granted every seat was filled when we got there (a Sun. night, day before Labor Day) but there aren't that many seats to begin with and we ended up taking an outdoor table since it was so nice out. We ordered 2 platters: falafal & chicken kabab. Nice touch on the lemon potato, and that tzatziki sauce was good. What was strange was that my companion got the Greek salad first so we both dove in thinking it was only 1 salad since we got our silverwear at the same time. But about 4 minutes later, my salad shows up! Ahh no biggie. Chicken was nice and tender and the falafal was tasty without being over greasy. We had the baklava which came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream but didn't seem like traditional Middle Eastern, i.e., Turkish baklava, as it only had a few flaky layers and seemed more Italian like a custard pie--we probably should've done with the galaktoboureko (which is custard-based).

But to add/recap the service: no placemat for me, took about 5 minutes to get the water and over 5 to get the check. They also were out of cappuccino so we said we'd just head down the block to (gasp) Starbucks after our meal, before the movie, since we had time to kill.

We'd probably go back and just get a sandwich and take it to go...overall a great alternative to some of the franchise options in the area...
