Yesterday I made a happy run to Caputo's so thought I would post it in case anybody doesn't know about it. There are several branches in suburbs but only one is "in" the city (across the street, actually). This HUGE market is like going to Italy and for a foodie it is great fun. It has aisle after aisle of every possible imported pasta and tomato item, an Italian pastry department, Italian ready-to-eat, great selection of breads, wonderful deli (mortadella!), the biggest selection of canned fish I have ever seen, a river-worth of fresh fish as well, cheese to infinity, plenty of wine, and a total monster of a produce department. I would say their inventory is about 300% of my Jewel. It's at Harlem & Fullerton/Grand (they blend together). Plenty of parking if you drive; if you're doing CTA take either the Fullerton or Grand bus to end of line (Nordica) then walk west 2 blocks with your shopping cart.
