Caponata-It's eggplant season...

Had a wonderfully fresh version at Cafe Butera in Massapequa this weekend. It was very light and zippy w/ capers & roasted pine nuts. Great comfort food, and for 5.95, a huge portion-maybe too much for two people, though.
The char-broiled strip steak, which was actually quite good, came with pesto mashed potatoes, a small pile of very finely sliced fried onion rings and some sauteed
spinach. Very yummy stuff and all definately splittable!
