New Capital in Rowland Heights - very tasty

Zoe | Jun 4, 200512:53 PM

On our way to pick up Devil Dog and his Missus from their vacation at the kennel in Chino, we stopped at Diamond Plaza off the Fullerton exit on the 60. Last time we were at New Capital was on opening weekend last September. It was about noon on Friday and the place was jammed like opening day (we were two of three non Asians in the place) and the crowd was enjoying the weekday price of $1.60 per dim sum serving (its $1.80 per serving on weekends). There was almost a traffic jam of carts giving multiple offerings on their carts - feet for instance: chicken and duck feet plus many kinds of tripe (yum here) and a huge number of tofu, stuffed mushrooms and many other dim sums I had not seen before. We had eight plates and the bill was under $20. This was extremely tasty - not haut cuisine but (to me) more homestyle. They also have a whopping menu of 90 items for lunch between $4.95 and $6.95. There were lots of happy eaters there - including us.
