We went last night and had a wonderful time and great meal. We splurged a bit, but here goes. We love the ambience, the dark, clubby look and feel. The hostesses were delightful, not the snotty 20 something's so many trendy restaurants hire. We had a reservation early (5:30) and were seated at a table we chose over the first one offered with no problem. Our server was warm and friendly though she was a bit "green" in the techniques of proper serving and wine knowledge. They decant your wine at the table. Still she was a pleasure. We ordered the cold shellfish plate ($43.00) which had 6 oysters, 6 medium shrimp, a small lobster tail and 2 lobster claws. All the fish were cooked to perfection, tender, not rubbery with a tangy cocktail sauce. A basket of bread with fine ciabatta, some dark bread and lavosh was delivered after our cocktail was served prior to the fish platter. Hubby got the 20 oz. New York for $36.00, medium, charred and I got the 14 oz. filet, medium-rare, charred for $34.00. (We always go for the big cuts as it's usually dinner the next day!) Au gratins and sauteed mushrooms rounded out the meal. Both steaks were sheer perfection with a fabulous char unlike any other place we frequent. True medium and medium-rare and delicious. The au gratins had a very strange herb taste that was really odd and not enjoyable. The mushrooms were great. The Manager stopped by to inquire if we were happy with our experience while we were eating and the front staff called us by name as we were leaving. We will definitely go back!! One caveat. . . maybe it's the holiday season, but parking is tight and the valet is the only way to go. Even so, it was jammed when we left (as was the restaurant at 7:30)and was a real zoo as the valet is shared with Maggiano's next door. Don't let that keep you from going, just make a reservation as we were told an hour to an hour and a half wait is not uncommon without one. Enjoy!
