Capers; how to soak?

I love capers in seafood dishes or with fish. However, I find it difficult to remove the vinegar or salt flavor which overwhelms them. I've been using the samll, salt packed kind. Rinsing aggressively tends to waterlog them. Any tips for a good soak to remove the salt?
