Delicious juices flowed from the slices of pork loin when I bit into the Febras de Porco, a marinated pork loin sandwich. The bread is cloud soft, the pork is better for it marinate, given a richer flavour from an application of herbs.
Fried potatoes are fresh, hot, crispy and a free from a greasy coat. They are outstanding. The thinnest ones are some of the best potato chops I had in a long time, the slightly thicker pieces provide a soft centre not unlike the insides of a good french fry.
Best part -- the queijadas -- a dense baked eggy custard that almost brought me back to Sintra. I could have walked out with a dozen of them, but I had to restrain myself for some Christina's ice cream, which is a different kind of delectation.
Especially with a flavour as sultry and seductive as rose water (called turkish something.....don't remember the name). Even the sample that I had conjured up pink perfumy vision. Definitely a must have.
