Canadian Beef

A letter in today's Toronto Star reawakened a, well, beef I have with Toronto restaurateurs - American beef. This country produces beef that would make a vegetarian whimper with envy. I'm thinking here of braised beef from Top Meadow Farms that I once tasted at Michael Stadtlander's place. Americans won't buy our beef, but Canadian beef farmers are faced with exclusively U.S. beef in some Toronto restaurants. Does anyone know of an alternative to asking about country of origin while holding a menu in a restaurant? Is there some sort of web site that would list restaurants that sell Canadian beef?
