Camilo's in Eagle Rock

We tried it early last night and are happy to have another good neighborhood place. Our picks included organic green salad with balsamic vinaigrette, stuffed calamari appetizer (stuffed with saffron rice, bay shrimp & calamari), quite tasty. My husband & I split a roasted salmon topped w/ large prawn on a bed of polenta in a clam, chipotle sauce-I forget the other ingredient in the
sauce-served with baby carrots & summer squash. Our son had penne alfredo from the kids' menu, lemonade & a hot fudge brownie sundae (no we're not trying to give him a heart attack, it was a treat). The brownie was large with french vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, fudge sauce & garnish of strawberries & strawberry sauce + mango? sauce drizzled at the edge. It was large & yummy, we all shared.
They hope to have their liquor license by the end of the year but if you byob they will gladly serve & keep chilled. So we had no drinks, total w/ tip about $55 (would be more without split dish).
They also serve breakfast & lunch.
Camilo's California Bistro, 2128 Colorado Blvd.
