My SIL made this recipe (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/cranberr...) for a family gathering and I loved it so much I was dying to make it at home because it was a fantastic balance of sweet, tart and spicy kick - followed the recipe exactly except that I doubled the recipe (double-checked, definitely doubled all the ingredients).
Problem is my lips are on FIRE. I love spice, but I am thoroughly confused as to why it's SO much spicier than my SIL. I de-seeded the peppers and removed most of the top and veins. I don't want to add more sugar, there is so much in it already. Will it calm down if I store it in the fridge, or get spicier? Is there anything else I could do to chill it out?
