Calm me - is my posole/hominy ever going to "bloom"?

I'm making a green posole. My local Mexican market had frozen posole (mote), so I tried that. We're a little over 3 hours into cooking the corn, and it has swollen from its frozen state, but certainly not bloomed. I'm a Northerner and I've only used canned hominy before. Is this going to look the same at some point? Should I be planning on eating this divine smelling pot of food tomorrow instead?
