My daughter arrived in Beijing last night. Shell be there for a year, and during that time I will be subsidizing several dining excursions. My only stipulation on the subsidy is that she eat only food items that she has never had before, and then write up a brief description -- which I will then post. As always, she is carrying her Chowhound Passport -- we'll see how native Chinese, Thai, etc. respond.
To communicate with this aspirant Chicago Chowhound in Asia, I need to get an international phone card. I realize this request is only tangentially food-related, but Id appreciate your help (and her reports could guide excursions to Lao Sze Chaun, Spring World, and other local Chinese joints).
So,does anyone know where in the Chicagoland area I can buy a phone card that will provide relatively low-cost calling to Beijing?
You can email me directly if you like. Thanks.
