My fiance (from California) and I (from Washington) would like to serve a selection of wines from our home states at our September wedding. We will be eating Asian/Pacific NW food like Thai Beef Salad and Grilled Wild Salmon.
I generally prefer tart, crisp whites, not as sure what I like in reds. My favorites:
-Pouilly-Fume, Domaine Hervé Seguin (Loire Valley, France)
-Sauvignon Blanc, Sileni Cellar Selection Sauvignon (Marlborough, New Zealand)
Any suggestions on wines like these, or completely different wines that pair well with our food and please crowds? The only stipulations are that they should be from California or Washington, and should be between 0-$20/bottle (we'll need enough for 150 guests).
Also, instead of Champagne, we'll be serving Spanish Cava (although it's not from CA/WA, our first trip abroad as a couple was to Barcelona, where we first had cava). Any tips on excellent, affordable cava (and/or sources) are also greatly appreciated!
