Calamari & Clam Chownder

N. Henry | Sep 30, 199905:52 PM     1

Phoebe's in Seekonk Mass. is a great place for Calarmari -on the RI Mass border so it serves fried calamari with sliced. sauteed banana peppers. choice of tartar sauce or marinara. It is Massachusetts afterall. When you get more into the Buzzards Bay area of Mass. the fried calamari are not served with the hot peppers and are always served with tartar sauce only. Phoebes is in a old house on the main road in Seekonk, and you walk through the kitchen to the dining room. The food is delcious, the calamari hot perfectly fried and the price is right. Last time we went we truly feasted. Also stopped at Nick's Pizzeria in Mattapoisset Mass. (exit 19 off 195. Great pizza with black olives and linguica, Kale and linguica soup excellent tool. Great area to stop on way to Cape Cod. The Chowder House in Mattapoisset, good chowder (not floury) but last time I went the fried fish & chips bit underdone and greasy.l
